Formed in 2011 as Shane Smith came over to settle in Austin, Texas, he met fiddle player Bennett Brown. Playing shows around the city and finding other members by chance, the band came into full force and released their debut album "Coast" in 2013. Two years later, their sophomore LP "Geronimo" was released, featuring the sleeper hit "All I See Is You" which was later certified Gold. Gaining acclaim and recognition, they were listed as one of the "15 Americana, Alt-Country and Folk Artists to Watch in 2016" by The Boot.
The band's most recent album "Norther", which dropped in March 2024, received significant attention from critics. Described as blurring genres and creating something unique that simply works, Shane Smith and The Saints' music has become standout masterpieces.
Over time, Shane Smith and The Saints have built a loyal following as they steadily gained attention through album releases, continuous touring, and significant attention through appearances on the neo-Western TV show "Yellowstone". After naming an episode after "All I See Is You" and playing the song in an extended scene, the band themselves have also guested on the show.
In 2023, Texas Governor Greg Abbott sought the band to perform at his inauguration, due to the popularity of their Yellowstone guesting. From then on, more and more people simply discovered this unique gem in the scene. Keeping their passionate and creative spirits alive, the band has shown relentless work ethic, jam-packed touring schedules, and hard-hitting energies across the board.
